Belmont Drain Cleaning

If you’re here, you either already have clogs or want to learn more about them. We can assist you whether your sink, toilet, or entire house is clogged. Nearly as urgent as having no air conditioning in the summer, clogged drains need to be cleared. You might be unable to use the restroom, take a shower, do the dishes, or even wash your hands. Roots, sagging pipes, hair, oil in the sink, “flushable wipes,” tampons, and sometimes even children’s toys can cause clogs. Call us, your 24-hour plumber, if you have an emergency since we have plumbers ready on call.

Your sewer pipes are severely affected by grease. particularly when placed in a septic tank. Grease will solidify and collect in the p-traps and at the bottom of the pipe when it is dumped down the drain, making it more difficult for solids to flow by and creating an obstruction that necessitates cleaning. If the grease buildup is severe enough, you might need to replace the line in order to get it clean. Very helpful is pouring hot water down the drain while using anti-grease soap. It melts in the water, and the soap aids in washing it away. Septic tanks, however, are unique. Absolutely, the grease will continue to collect in your p-traps and pipes. When it gets to your septic tank, it may harden and prevent the drainage, resulting in a standstill. Moreover, it can occasionally enter your drain fills, which cannot be cleaned by a machine. You will therefore need to personally dig them up, which could cost thousands in repairs. Grease should never be poured down a septic tank line. Grease is one of the main causes of the numerous septic tank issues in Belmont, North Carolina.

Another serious problem are flushable wipes. Despite the fact that they can technically be flushed, they are one of the most frequent causes of drain problems. When someone sees the word “flushable” on a package, they may not realize that it does not mean that they will break down in the sewage system like toilet paper does. They stick to pipe bends, generating clogs that inevitably lead to your calling us. The problem also includes tampons. They can very quickly block your toilet when flushed down the toilet. They are comparable to “flushable wipes” in that they will build up and stick to blockages.

Sink clogs are often simple to clear; buildup, hair, or other obstructions can cause them. Most clogs can be removed by inserting a hair snake into the drain and rodding them out. We would need to unclog the p-trap and remove the clog within if we were called out. You must be a licensed plumber or be employed by one in order to perform this type of work. Due to the sewer gases that are leaking and are hazardous to breathe, a permit must be obtained. If the p-trap were to be removed without the guidance of a plumber, you might be at risk since the water barrier that the p-trap creates shields you from the sewer gases.

We utilize what is known as a toilet auger, which has a cable on the end that is about 6 feet long and long enough to get past the toilet and hit anything in the way, for bigger problems like a clogged toilet. We need to employ a 150-pound or more drain machine for bigger problems, including a clogged drain that is in your entire home. To clear the line, we will either use a cleanout in the yard or open up your highest fixture, such as a toilet or roof vent. You may have roots or a belly (sagging pipe) in your main sewer line if it is frequently clogged. To permanently solve the problem, these problems must be fixed; you can only get rid of the roots or fix the sag by digging up the pipe and doing the necessary repairs.

Belly/Sagging Pipe?

When your sewer line is not properly “bedded” in the dirt, a section of the dirt that was not properly compacted causes the pipe to sag. This is known as a belly. In essence, it never fully formed, causing the dirt to slump. It permits the pipe to droop along with the earth above it having no structure. If not done properly, a belly can occur the day it was installed. Most homeowners are unaware of what occurs in the sewer system and typically don’t care. After cleaning a line that has frequently blocked, we advise videotaping it to check that there are no roots in the line and that the pipes are not sagging. You’ll undoubtedly save time and money by fixing the problem right away rather than having to pay to clean it repeatedly. It normally calls for us to replace the pipe part that is sagging.

Roots?

As sewage seeps into the ground through a small opening, roots start to develop. When plants become aware of the nutrient-rich water, they will start to grow in the direction the water is coming from. Even if just a single root gets through, it will start to spread and get bigger as it feeds on your sewage like a flame on gasoline. The growth won’t stop unless you fix that portion. When a pipe is completely surrounded by roots, absolutely nothing can pass through it. In these situations, every time a drain is opened by a machine. It just serves to open a brief doorway. When roots are this large, they regenerate almost immediately. If you’re going to get something done, get it done correctly, as they say in the plumbing industry.

Sewer Camera Inspection

Most of you would wish to keep from ever seeing the inside of your pipes. The simplest way to find out if your line has any roots, bellies, or breaks is to have a sewer inspection done. If the line is clogged, we must clear it first to find the right access. With our cutting-edge locating tool, we can pinpoint the obstruction if we see one and learn how deep the line is there. We can easily identify any sewer obstruction with the use of this equipment. Or you could get a free inspection every year with our Superior Service Agreement!

Jetter

A sewage jetter is a high-pressure hose that can cut through any obstruction and is inserted into the sewer line at pressures between 3000 and 5000 psi. The toughest impediment can be overcome with this amount of pressure. Jetters are dispatched to clear lines that don’t have roots encroaching on them and that need adequate cleaning. Although they effectively cut through them, they nevertheless come back extremely rapidly. In other words, you’re wasting money on a fix rather than a thorough repair. Jetters are also quite effective in commercial plumbing applications. Jetters are your greatest option for clearing out the debris in your pipework in factories and mills, restaurants, and other locations with grease-filled lines. It’s a relatively quick operation that produces immediate benefits.

Belmont Drain Cleaning

If your drains got clogged and water can’t get through them or you are smelling an odor, give us a call or fill out the contact form and we’ll get your drains working properly asap.

Causes: The most common culprits are grease poured down the kitchen sink drain as well as food particles, hair in the shower drain, soap, etc. All of these things can get stuck on the side of the drain pipe and clog it, which can lead to some serious problems. This is why, whenever you notice that the water is not draining as fast as it used to or it’s backing up, you will have to call a drain contractor. You can hire one from our company and get your drains clean within a short amount of time.
1
How quickly can you fix my issue?

If the issue is only a clog then we can knock it out within an hour, at most two hours.

2
How much do your services cost?

We charge a $45 service fee to give an estimate which will be waived at the time of work. Our prices for drain cleaning begin at $175 depending on the time to knock it out and the size of the pipe. This price is not set and must be determined by a professional before an accurate price is given.

3
How do I prevent the issue from happening again?

Sinks

  • Do not pour grease down sink
  • Do not put uneaten food into garbage disposal

Toilets

  • Do not flush “flushable wipes”
  • Take it easy on the toilet paper
  • Do not flush tampons

Showers

  • Clean hair out of your drain

If these methods do not work then you may have a break or roots in your sewer line. This requires us to replace the section of pipe that is damaged.

Tylor showed up right on time. Found the issue quickly, and fixed the problem easily despite the minor leak being in a hard to reach place. He was also friendly and obviously very competent. I sincerely hope I never have to use them … More again. But if I do have a need for them, they’ll be my first call.
